"Ministry" of Tech and AI Dialogue

Technology is not neutral. It decides who gets access, who gets heard, who gets protected, and who gets left behind.

This dialogue creates space for an honest, grounded conversation about AI, digital inclusion, and the future of work in South Africa ahead of the main event.

With over 50 million internet users in South Africa alone, access is growing, but access is not the same as inclusion. Young people are navigating a rapidly shifting digital landscape while facing record unemployment, skills gaps, and systems that were not built with them in mind.

We will be asking the harder questions:

  • Who is AI actually being built for?
  • What does the future of work look like for young people already locked out of opportunity?
  • How do we build technology that reflects African languages, environments, and realities?
  • How does Africa move from consuming the future to building it?

This is not a lecture or a panel. It is a roundtable for curious minds, critical thinkers, and anyone trying to figure out where they fit in this future. Technologists and non-technologists alike are welcome.
